Sean is an award-winning multimedia journalist and Spanish-speaking international broadcaster at the Voice of America based in Washington. Currently, he is a fill-in Pentagon correspondent and general assignments reporter. From 2009 to 2010, he was VOA's Islamabad bureau chief and correspondent, covering news out of Pakistan and Afghanistan and traveling throughout the region.

Sean started working at VOA in 2006 as the Charles Kuralt Fellow in International Broadcasting. Since then, he has been based as a reporter at the United Nations, Capitol Hill and in New York. He also has reported from Honolulu, Singapore, NATO headquarters in Brussels, San Francisco, Houston, New Orleans and across Chile. In mid-2004, Sean lived in Guadalajara, Mexico for several months, studying and doing service work.

Sean graduated with Distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Spanish.

When he’s not working, Sean enjoys being outdoors, traveling, playing guitar, cooking and spending time with his family and friends.
